Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how IndyCar Officiating, Inc. (“IOI,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information in connection with this website (the “Site”). The Site publishes official officiating documents for public reference. It does not offer accounts, logins, or registration, and it does not ask you to submit personal information.
1. Information we collect automatically
Like virtually all websites, the Site is served by a web host that keeps standard server logs. These logs may record technical information such as your IP address, browser type and version, the date and time of your request, the pages or files you request, and the page that referred you. This information is generated automatically by the hosting infrastructure and is used to operate, secure, and troubleshoot the Site. We do not use it to identify you personally.
2. Information you provide
The Site has no contact forms, no search box that stores your input, no comment features, and no newsletter sign-up. In normal use, you do not provide us with any personal information. If you choose to contact us directly (for example, by emailing an address listed on the Site), we will receive whatever information you include in that message and will use it only to respond to you.
3. Cookies and similar technologies
Our own Site code does not set cookies. However, third-party services used by the Site (described in the next section) may set cookies or use similar technologies on your device, and the Site is served over infrastructure that may do the same. You can control or block cookies through your browser settings; doing so will not prevent you from reading or downloading documents on the Site.
4. Third-party services
To be fully transparent, the Site currently relies on the following third-party services, each of which may receive limited technical information about your visit:
Web hosting (GoDaddy). The Site is hosted on GoDaddy infrastructure. As our hosting provider, GoDaddy processes the server-log information described in Section 1 in order to deliver the Site to you.
Hosting traffic monitoring (GoDaddy). Our hosting environment automatically adds a traffic-monitoring script to pages on the Site. This script is provided by GoDaddy, runs in your browser, and may set cookies or collect usage and performance information, which is processed by GoDaddy. We do not control this script and do not receive the information it collects. To request that it be disabled, or for more information, you may contact us at the address below; you may also block it using browser settings or content-blocking tools.
Web fonts (Google Fonts). The Site currently loads display fonts from Google’s servers (Google Fonts). When your browser requests these fonts, your IP address is sent to Google in order to deliver them. Google’s handling of that information is governed by Google’s own privacy policy. We are in the process of moving these fonts onto our own servers so that this transfer no longer occurs.
We do not use Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, advertising pixels, or social-media tracking on the Site.
5. How we use information
We use the limited technical information available to us only to:
- operate, maintain, and deliver the Site and its documents;
- monitor and protect the security and integrity of the Site;
- diagnose technical problems and understand general usage; and
- comply with applicable law.
We do not sell or rent information about you, and we do not use it for targeted advertising.
6. When we share information
We do not share information about visitors except: with the service providers described in Section 4, who process it on our behalf to deliver the Site; when required by law, legal process, or a governmental request; or to protect the rights, safety, or property of IOI, our users, or others. If IOI’s operations are reorganized or transferred, information may be transferred as part of that change, subject to this Policy.
7. Data retention
Server logs and information held by our service providers are retained for as long as needed for the purposes described above, in accordance with those providers’ standard practices and applicable law, and then deleted or anonymized.
8. Security
The Site is served over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). We take reasonable measures to protect the Site, but no website or method of transmission over the Internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Children’s privacy
The Site is intended for a general and professional audience and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to address it.
10. Visitors outside the United States
The Site is operated from the United States and is intended for a United States audience. If you access the Site from outside the United States, including from the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, any information generated by your visit will be processed in the United States, where data-protection laws may differ from those in your location.
11. California residents
Depending on the nature and scale of our operations, California privacy laws may or may not apply to IOI. Regardless, we describe our practices openly in this Policy. If you are a California resident and have questions about the information practices described here, you may contact us using the details below.
12. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date above. Material changes will be reflected on this page. Your continued use of the Site after an update means you accept the revised Policy.
